The touristic train of Blaye offers the discovery of the history and heritage of Plassac and Blaye, capital of Haute Gironde. Vauban’s citadel, listed by UNESCO World Heritage, the vineyards of Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, and finally the Gironde, the largest estuary in Europe.
Open to the public from 8 July to 25 August and to groups year round.
In July (except 11-14/07) and August, open to the public:
Daily except Wednesday and Saturday at 11 am (40 min tour)
Daily at 2:15 pm and 3:45 pm in July + 5:15 in August, with the possibility of stopping in Plassac to visit the Gallo-Roman villas
Thursday at 4 pm in July and August, tour by train plus a tour & tasting of the Clos de l’Echauguette winery inside the Citadel and of Château Frédignac.
Important: Closed during the Jumping de Blaye (11 to 14 July).
